• homebrew EFI bikes:
  • Steve 'Viking' Oxley's CBX750 / RC17 EFI Project.
  • Frank 'K75G/S' Warner's K75G/S EFI thoughts. Frank also started me thinking about idiot lights, eg: how to make EFI side-of-the-road diagnosis as easy as carbs.

• O2 sensors:

  • Standard narrowband sensors go for about $120 at Repco, Bursons, etc.
  • Wideband sensors (Bosch LSU4) may have recently dropped in price, so maybe they're a better bet.
• Control Electronics:
  • JedMicro's AVR 570 ATmega128 boards look extremely nifty -- it fits a lot into 2" x 2".
  • The Atmel ATmega128 itself. This seems to have a lot of what would be required of an EFI controller on board already, and it should be fast enough
  • Atmel programming software for Linux (also available as Debian packages).
  • Programming adaptors seem to be easy to make too, although I've managed to avoid this problem by finding a Xilinx XChecker DLC4 in a dumpster, which I think can be used with JTAG devices.
• Injectors and Throttle Bodies:
  • see Throttle Body page for my progress with some GPz1100 TBs...
  • Modern BMW R-bikes (R1100, R1150, R850) use neat throttle bodies out in the breeze, all 45mm. Interesting page about fixing surging for EFI boxers.
• Ignition:
  • A high-energy capacitor discharge ignition system by John Clarke, Silicon Chip September 1997.
• Components:
  • LM9044 Lambda Sensor Interface Amplifier
  • LM1949 Injector Drive Controller, which drives a darlington in either resistive or switch mode.
  • MTP3055V power MOSFET might be handy for other high-current applications.
  • 4N2X optoisolator ... I have a feeling optoisolation might be a good idea, and they're small and cheap enough.
